About Bowland Wild Boar Park

Situated in the heart of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB) Bowland Wild Boar Park lies on the banks of the River Hodder.  Surrounded by fells and woodland teeming with wildlife and wildflowers, it is a delight for those who enjoy fresh air, fun outdoors or simply want to relax away from the hustle and bustle.

It is the perfect place for a stress-free, fun-filled day out in the beautiful Ribble Valley.

We are an independent, family owned and run Park and have been welcoming visitors since we opened in 1999. We take great pleasure in sharing our love of animals, wildlife, and the amazing Lancashire Countryside, whilst ensuring our visitors have a memorable, enjoyable, and fun packed day out.

We have a variety of activities to choose from along with many species of Wild animals and Farm animals that you can enjoy petting or observing. We have a huge Kids Adventure Play area with slides, zip wires, swings, and lots of things to climb over or crawl through, along with tractor & trailer and barrel rides for the kids. For a gentler pace we have woodland and river walks for those that love to explore.

There are also many places where you can sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity, fresh air, and stunning views. Our delightful Café also offers a refreshing selection of hot drinks, snacks and freshly prepared homemade light lunches and cakes – all with a magical view of the huge variety of feeding wild birds and wildlife that visit our feeders and pond daily.

In addition to day visitors and families we love welcoming schools, educational groups and societies to the Park, offering a wide variety of organised and supervised activities for all ages, with refreshments and a relaxed and comfortable place to meet.

For those that want to stay a little longer, we have a range of different accommodations you can stay in from luxury self-catered holiday lodges to shepherds huts, safari tents and camping pods; you can even spend a night in our Iron Age Roundhouse. Alternatively bring your own tent for a night under canvas.

The Countryside however is not just an amazing place to visit, it is also the perfect environment to learn about conservation, animal welfare and how to get most of the great outdoors safely.

Sharing our passion for animals, the countryside and our precious environment, our visitors enjoy hands on practical experience and leave with valuable knowledge and memories that will last a lifetime.
