Access & Facilities

Making the Park Accessible for All Visitors

A Warm Welcome for Everyone

At Bowland Wild Boar Park, we want everyone to feel comfortable and able to enjoy their visit. Whether you’re planning a family day out, visiting with grandparents, bringing a school group or popping in for the café, we aim to make your time with us as easy and enjoyable as possible.

As a countryside park, some areas include natural terrain, but we provide a range of facilities to support visitors of all ages and abilities.

Accessible Facilities in a Natural Countryside Setting

The park is set within natural woodland and riverside surroundings, and some walking routes include uneven ground and gentle slopes. However, many of our main areas – including the Trough & Brew café, office and animal viewing spaces – are accessible and we currently offer the following:

Guide dogs and assistance dogs are welcome throughout the park.

If you have specific accessibility questions before your visit, please don’t hesitate to contact us – we are always happy to help.

Welcoming Families and Four-Legged Friends

Bowland Wild Boar Park is designed with families in mind, offering facilities to make your visit as easy and enjoyable as possible.

Baby changing facilities are available, along with highchairs in the café, and there is plenty of space for prams and buggies around the main park areas. As we are a natural countryside setting, some paths may be uneven or muddy, particularly during wetter months, so pushchairs can occasionally be more challenging on certain routes. Folded prams may be left at your own risk if taking part in specific activities.

We are also proud to be a dog-friendly park and welcome well-behaved dogs throughout the grounds. For the safety of our animals, wildlife and other visitors, we kindly ask that dogs are kept on leads at all times. Water bowls are available near the café, making it easy to enjoy a countryside walk before stopping to relax and refuel.

A Countryside Setting

As a working country park surrounded by woodland and open fields, paths can become muddy during wetter months. We recommend sturdy footwear and suitable clothing, particularly in autumn and winter.

Our team are always on hand if you need assistance or guidance during your visit.

Explore at Your Own Pace

Now that you know what facilities are available, why not discover the quieter side of the park? Our woodland and riverside walks offer space to breathe, beautiful scenery and a chance to slow down and reconnect with nature.
