Bowland Wild Boar Park sits in the heart of the Forest of Bowland Natural Landscape, on the banks of the River Hodder and surrounded by fells, woodland and wildlife-rich countryside. Since opening in 1999, we have proudly remained an independent, family-owned and run park – and it is our team who bring that vision to life every day.
From caring for our animals and maintaining the parkland, to preparing freshly made food in the café and welcoming visitors at the gate, our team share a genuine passion for animals, the countryside and creating memorable days out. Many of us have strong connections to rural life and Lancashire, and we take great pride in sharing that love of the outdoors with families, schools and visitors from near and far.
As the park has evolved into a welcoming country park with a café at its heart, our focus remains the same: offering a relaxed, enjoyable and safe environment for all ages. Whether you are here to explore woodland walks, meet our animals, enjoy outdoor play, or simply unwind with good food and fresh air, it is our team who make it possible.
We believe the countryside is not only a wonderful place to visit, but also a place to learn. Our staff are always happy to answer questions about animal welfare, conservation and the natural environment, helping visitors leave with not just happy memories, but greater understanding too.
Above all, we are a friendly, approachable team who care deeply about what we do. When you visit Bowland Wild Boar Park, you are not just visiting a destination – you are being welcomed by people who genuinely love sharing this special place.
